Are you ready to learn how to quilt two pieces of fabric together?
This pattern will walk you though the process step by step. You will also learn how to use painters tape (you know that blue tape you pick up in the paint department at the hardware store) to make the lines you will use to stitch the two pieces of fabric (with the batting inside).
Fabric Requirements: Two coordinating fat quarters - typically 18" x 22"
Batting: We love using Insulbright from the Warm Company - just make sure you pick a batting where the heat will not transfer through to your hands.
Binding: 1 1/3 yards of double fold 1/2" wide bias tape. We bought this on Amazon.
Coordinating threads - One color will be used to topstitch on the bias tape, and one color will be used to quilt the fabrics together.
Notions: Cutting mat, ruler, rotary cutter, felt tip marker, scissors
As with all our patterns it is intended for personal use only. Please do not distribute this pattern. Items made from this pattern are not to be sold. If you would like to sell any items made from this pattern, contact us for a limited use license.
The PDF format allows you to print and re-print the instructions or pattern pieces whenever you need. It’s no problem if your puppy chews up your pattern or you loose “that one piece.” Just reprint it! Or, save some paper and trees and print only the pattern pieces. The pdf version will be sent to your email within 24 hours of receiving payment.
Please note that there will be two files - one for the sewing directions and one for the templates.
Also, please note that for your tracing guides to print out correctly you need to be sure your printer is not set to “shrink to fit.” If this box is selected, unselect it. If you can’t see a box with this option then just make sure it is printing at 100%.
